Myprimetime.com, Leading Baby Boomer Web Site, Names Samir Elias
as Director of Internet Technologies
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 24, 2000 - MyPrimeTime, Inc., an
integrated media company, today announced today it has named Samir
Elias, 43, to the position of Director of Internet Technologies, where he
will have primary responsibility for developing and implementing
myprimetime.com's contextual e-commerce infrastructure and
strategy.
"Samir may not have invented e-commerce, but his
innovations have been instrumental in making e-commerce as we know it
today a reality," said myprimetime.com Co-Founder and CEO Craig Forman.
"The proprietary technology that Samir is developing for myprimetime.com
will vault us ahead of the pack as e-commerce evolves into its next
phase."
Elias, who holds a Masters in Computer Engineering from
Santa Clara University, has extensive experience in developing innovative
business applications for the Internet. He brings years of knowledge of
portal e-commerce - bringing consumers to merchants - to
myprimetime.com.
As a principal at C2B (Consumers to Business)
Technologies, he developed one of the industry's first Comparison Shopping
engines, which today powers shopping sites such as shop.go.com, the CNNfn
Power Shopper, and many more.
In September 1998, Inktomi
Corporation acquired C2B for their shopping engine technology,
establishing Inktomi as the leader in OEM shopping solutions for portals.
Elias then became a manager with Inktomi responsible for content
acquisition from third party suppliers including Consumer's Digest and
PCOrder.
As a principal at Extensity, which develops Internet
applications that transform the way businesses do their everyday work,
Elias designed and built distributed multithreaded object-oriented
Internet applications in Java and C++ integrating with relational
databases, document processing systems, and warehouse automation
systems
Previously, Elias worked for TRW financial Systems, where
he developed leading edge business applications and Internet technologies
in areas including e-commerce, spider and net-robot technology, dynamic
content, JDBC and RMI.
